Last week the Mobile Leaders Alliance hosted MLA Live! @ Internet Week New York and rocked the house. This was our second year as an official Internet Week City-Wide Partner Event and we couldn’t have asked for a better “welcome back”! Since its inception in 2008, where Internet Week was no more than just a few events, this five day festival has turned into a bustling week of 45,000 people participating in over 250 events around the city; quite a few of which are mobile focused.
For those of you who aren’t familiar or have never been to MLA Live!, it is an open networking event for mobile thought leaders in local areas. MLA Live! provides a fun and engaging environment for mobile professionals to come together and exchange ideas, and yes, maybe even some business cards as well.
While this is only our second year as a City Wide Event partner w/ Internet Week, MLA Live! has actually been around for nearly four years now. When I founded the MLA back in 2011, I did so with the intention of creating stronger local communities for mobile professionals. After years of fighting through digital events, struggling to find the one other person in the room with whom I could have an intelligent conversation about mobile, I set out to create something that was just ours.
The first couple of MLA Live! events were small; maybe 10 – 20 professionals at most, but as the platform exploded, so did our attendance and last week was the biggest event we’ve had to date. With over 350 industry professionals registered, last week’s event drew attention from companies like: OMD, L’Oreal, Neustar, Razorfish, Starcom, Citi, Carat and more. Of course, we couldn’t do it without the support of all of our sponsors which included: AdTheorent, Phunware, Tapjoy, Fiksu, Grapeshot, Tapad and SoundHound.
You can check out a few of the pictures from the event below and a full album of images on our Facebook page. MLA Live! currently only operates in Los Angeles and New York, but if you’d like it to come to your town, contact us and let us know. We’re excited to continue our growth this year and into 2016!
